Domestic Violence and Children
Domestic violence doesn’t just affect adults – children and young people in violent households are also at great risk. Deborah Jamieson, CEO of The Global Foundation for the Elimination of Domestic Violence, outlines what can be done for this vulnerable group. Some of the ways she has explained can help ensure positive outcomes for children and young adults are by starting early – having teachers talk about the importance of healthy relationships, value opinions – make sure children can define their needs, and get training – respond appropriately and recognize the abuse.
